Sustainability & Eco Consiousness

Our Eco Conscious Effort

I know that nowadays people don’t just shop flippantly. You want to make sure that what you’re buying or consuming has been produced with the planet in mind.

I have tried to limit our impact on the planet as much as possible by selecting an eco conscious & sustainable wholesale blank company. Our packaging is recyclable & minimal so that we’re not wasting paper & trying our best to never use plastic in our packaging which is why your order arrives in our simple tissue paper with a recycled kraft paper sticker to hold it together in our cardboard boxes that are sealed with paper tape that you can put in your recycling bin or re-use if you can.

All of our clothing is printed & embroidered in Glasgow, our stickers are printed in England as well as our packaging boxes & I try to source as many items from the UK as possible to keep our carbon footprint low.

Sustainability

We currently use a wholesale blank by a company called Stanley/Stella, they do really great work to be sustainable & eco conscious, it’s one of the main reasons we chose them for our blanks, as well as being a really nice fit and excellent quality.

Here is what they say about their sustainability:

‘In 2023, we improved our supply chain to ensure fair working conditions, reduce our environmental footprint, and secure raw materials integrity. We finalized our decarbonization strategy with an ambitious 2030 objective, and supported communities near cotton fields, partner factories in Bangladesh, and our Brussels HQ.

In 2024, we will deepen collaboration to reduce emissions, support factory workers and cotton farmers, and source top-quality materials.

we visited key supply chain actors in Turkey, India, and Tanzania to strengthen our understanding of organic cotton sourcing and inspect ginning facilities. In Bangladesh and China, we reviewed fabric and garment factories, focusing on carbon data, energy efficiency, and emission targets.

After two years of intensive work to measure and understand our carbon footprint across our supply chain, we proudly unveiled our decarbonisation strategy in April 2024.

This huge project unites the entire Stanley/Stella ecosystem around a common goal: to reduce our relative carbon emissions by 30% by 2030.

Materials

To guarantee the traceability of Stanley Stella’s raw materials, all their products are certified by GOTS (for organic cotton) or GRS (for recycled cotton, recycled polyester and recycled nylon).

With the aim of further ensuring the integrity of their materials, they also go beyond certifications, undertaking various actions. For example, their local teams in Turkey and India are in direct contact with the cotton farmers, and they regularly test the lint cotton and yarn to verify its organic content.

Since our start in 2012, they have used only organic cotton, grown from seeds that have not been genetically modified and that are cultivated without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers.

They source all of their cotton from India, Turkey & Tanzinia. Both Turkey and Tanzania are non-GMO countries, meaning they have banned the use of genetically modified cotton seeds.

They use recycled polyester for their outerwear garments and blend it with organic cotton for some of our sweatshirts and accessories.

For all their outerwear in recycled polyester, they use GRS certified fabrics. Just like with their organic cotton, they seek full traceability of their recycled polyester, including the origin of the PET bottles.
